NEO-RECOVERY archive

2018-ongoing. The concept of a “recovery archive” was directly inspired by my dear friend & colleague Marie-Pier Frigon’s “Intoxication Chronicles.” After sharing on Tumblr & adapting for Instagram, as well as its installation at the Gallery for Broken Hearts, the Archive has transformed.

I’ve always been taken with glitch art, digital noise, & the overall “corruption” of imagery — both as an aesthetic & a state of being. My first experiments taking The Recovery Archive into distortion were the following:

Digital Life Simulation (literally via The Sims 4) mixed with Real Life — namely with my IRL disorders. This was an exciting breakthrough for the work, allowing me to totally break free from the constraints of traditional photography, transform my phone snapshots, & layer both digital & “real” imagery to create a new visual archive of consciousness.

I have since revisited the initial slides of the original Recovery Archive, plus supplementary text on my various blogs.
